TMNUT SUCKS! BIG TIME
Posted by jon | Filed under Daily, Tech
It’s been a whole freaky month where my connection goes offline when 10pm comes. The line will only come back up the next day, about 10am. That’s 12 hours of down time daily.
I have been calling to the Customer Support, and they can’t seem to be able to help me.
They assigned already 2 engineers, apparently they change port, reset port, yadda yadda, and still the problem persist.
One suggested that my modem is fried. I purchased brand new one. RM100 bucks, and YET IT DOESNT WORK. My old modem connects after 10am.
They cannot seem to assign somebody to come at night to troubleshoot the problem since the connectivity starts only at night.
It’s tiring.
If you are reading this, please email to custcare@tm.net.my and point them to this blog.
They wasted my time, their time, my money and my work is effected. Maybe they listen if there is a WHOLE chain of email directing to them.
I’ve got so many customer support tickets, I lost count.
I wish I could say to hell with you TMNUT, and jump to another ISP.
Let’s face it. Which ISP?
They said they have fix the problem as of 4:40pm today. We will see tonight!
TMNUT. YOU RAWK. I salute your competency.

When it comes to streamxy or tmnet it’s always the same problem. So I got used to it and this is how i solve my problem.
Off the modem wait 5 minutes and see if it will connect.
If is still don’t connect. This is what I will do. I will sound wierd but it work fine after that.
Pick up the phone and wait for a different tone from the line. Instead of the tot tot tot sound there will be another background sound slowly coming in. Or pick up the phone and dial any number. Usually i will dial my handphone number just like getting the line to work or something like that. This is usually what i do when there is no connection.
If I where to call streamyx they will start all the stupid Q&A.
Or change to 019 mobile broadband package at RM68/month. Speed is not that good.

hmm.. i don’t think this is a streamyx problem. sounds like a phone line problem… have you tried picking up the phone when you can’t go online? I used to have some problems when it rained and i couldn’t go online (even slight drizzle). turns out the phone wire from the pole was worn out and it would slighly short when it rain thus giving out loads of background noise and screwing up streamyx.

I have the same problem too…. when it rains…..
I will just ignore it and it will be back to normal the next.
What the hack with streamyx and phone line…..
But they are still the cheapest.

well, it didn’t rain today.
i was about to comment and said i am having a good night with the connectivity. Doesn’t seem so.
You see, the engineer changed some fibre wiring over at their end. Apparently it is faulty.
The question is, HOW ON EARTH TO TROUBLESHOOT WHEN THE GOD DAMN CONNECTION IS OKAY. Is it that difficult to send someone over like RIGHT NOW, when the problem OCCURS! Isn’t that easier to pin point where goes wrong!
ARGH, SO FRUSTRATING.
I lodge another call. They wanted to give me another support number. That’s another 2 to 3 days turn around time.
Is there anyhow to take action against them?
Why are they asking if I AM ON WINDOWS XP, when clearly it isn’t a OS related issue? What, am I not connecting the same way I connect during the DAY?
I should ask them if COOKIES can be eaten. I’ll buy them some.
SUCKS
JADED!
SUCKS!
ARGH

Unfortunately I think poor ISPs are a problem all over the world. Check out this little old lady in America, she got so annoyed with Comcast her provider of phone, internet, and cable, that she went to their offices and smashed up some computers there.

Well I hope you can get your problem fixed. I wonder if the system is just getting overloaded in the evenings? Everyone starts connecting to the internet and downloading, but the provider have underinvested in the necessary equipment, so some people slow down and have limited connectivity.

Dude, have you checked your adsl modem logs? Sometimes you are able to connect to streamyx but their dns server screws up so you can’t surf. Has happened to me quite often. Especially the 2xx.xxx.xxx.xxx dns server

Where is your place?
Maybe my company can provide you broadband service…
What Kress said is correct!
If you can see the line is CONNECTED on the modem log. Then you may manually key in the DNS in your PC, you can use other ISP DNS instead, here is the list:
TIME DNS:
203.121.16.85
203.121.16.120
203.121.65.29
Jaring:
192.228.128.20
161.142.227.17
161.142.212.17
PacNet:
203.120.90.90
203.120.90.60
203.120.90.40
192.169.34.181
Maxis:
202.75.160.8
202.75.160.9
Hope this will help!

Why don’t you try out Maxis wireless broadband? They’re pretty good
